CBMS Network E-Learning Modules: Using Local Level Data for More Inclusive Recovery

The CBMS Network E-Learning Modules, with the general theme “Use of Local Level Data for a More Inclusive Recovery“, are intended to provide tools for local governments in enhancing the preparation of evidence-based local development profiles, planning, program design, and targeting and impact monitoring using local level data.  The modules, conducted via zoom, include lectures/discussions, hands-on exercises and mentoring sessions on generating local level indicators using tools for data processing and analytics i.e. STATA (for generating local indicators and desired disaggregation that can be used as inputs for the preparation of LGU-SDG results matrix, local DRM plan, local GAD plan, and local action plan for children); VENNGAGEExcel and QGIS (for data visualization), and an excel-based local planning and budgeting tool (for Modules on GAD and Children).

Four modules, developed by the CBMS Network Team based at the DLSU Angelo King Institute for Economic and Business Studies, were first launched and conducted in 2020 which included the following thematic areas:

1. Localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (5-Day Online Training Module)

2. Strengthening Disaster Risk Management (5-Day Online Training Module)

3. Fostering Gender and Development (3-Day Online Training Module)

4. Advancing the Welfare of Children (3-Day Online Training Module)

1. CBMS Network E-Learning Module on Strengthening Disaster Risk Management (5 day module), via Zoom

Learn how to process local level indicators and analyze local level data related to disaster risk management and vulnerability risk mapping, and be familiarized with tools for hazard mapping and generating local climate change vulnerability index (CCVI) to aid identification and profiling of vulnerable population and communities for the preparation and implementation of disaster risk reduction and management plan, and recovery and rehabilitation plan.

2. CBMS Network E-Learning Module on Localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (5 day module), via Zoom
Workshop Dates: October 10-14, 2022
Deadline for Early Bird Registration: September 26, 2022

Learn how to generate, interpret, and analyze local level data and indicators of progress in meeting the sustainable development goals (SDGs) at the community level, and be equipped with data visualization tools for creating SDG infographics to enhance preparation of inputs for reporting achievements and gaps in meeting the SDGs, and facilitate the generation of barangay/municipal/city/provincial inputs for PDP-SDG results matrices.
